You’ve probably heard of bed bugs in the context of “dirty” homes, as in, those people live in filth so they have bed bugs. However, the idea that bed bugs only live in places that are less than clean is a fallacy.

2. Physical Indicators in the Bed

Bed bugs may leave behind excrement, which looks like small dark specks or spots. If you roll over on them and crush them, there may also be reddish blotches on your bedding from their blood. Eggs, eggshells and shed skin may also be present. 

3. Bed Bugs

The best confirmation of the presence of bed bugs is seeing them in the flesh. They may hide in a multitude of places, including seams, wallpaper, box springs, electrical outlets, appliances and more.
