The Royal Horticultural Society announced the winners of the People’s Choice Awards at the Chelsea Flower Show 2026 on May 22, confirming which displays captured the imagination of the visiting public.

Attendees voted for their favourite spaces across four groups: Large Show Gardens, Small Show Gardens, Balcony and Container Gardens, and All About Plants Gardens, each reflecting a different scale and style of horticultural creativity.

In the Large Show Gardens category, the Parkinson’s UK – A Garden for Every Parkinson’s Journey earned the highest number of votes. Designed by Arit Anderson, it marked her debut as a judged show garden. Anderson explained that the concept began with a workshop that invited gardeners living with Parkinson’s to share their experiences, ensuring the layout addressed their specific needs.

The All About Plants Gardens award went to the Bat Conservation Trust’s Nocturnal Garden, designed by Melanie Hick. “I always intended to present a biodiverse and wildlife friendly garden design that Chelsea garden visitors would want at home,” said Melanie. It’s so rewarding to receive the endorsement of the public, it means everything. I look forward to creating my next artistic biodiverse garden.
